Godspeed You! Black Emperor are a Canadian-French experimental rock band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada formed in the year 1994. Originally, the band consists of Efrim Menuck, Mauro Pezzente and Mike Moya all three of them are the key members of the band. The band is known for their ethereal dark atmosphere mixed with post rock and experimental music, gaining them a cult status and the most important post rock acts of the generation.
Now a 9 piece, but in the initial days the band only consisted of these three members only, Efrim, Mauro and Mike. Before their sophomore debut, ‘F#A#(infinity)’ which garnered popularity in 1997, the band once produced an experimental record back in the year 1994, entitled as ‘All The Lights Fucked On The Hairy Amp Drooling’.
It was initially recorded as a demo and was released on a cassette. However, this was their only which was self-released. Only 33 copies of this record was released at that time and very few people had owned the cassette including the band’s label, ‘Constellation Records’.
In 2013, a reddit user ‘castlejack’ claimed to own one of the cassettes of the demo. He also uploaded some screenshots of the cassette he owned. He also uploaded two tracks on the site ‘Babyfiles.com’, which were then later on uploaded to YouTube. He had a plan to upload the full album on YT, but that didn’t happened only because of the fear of getting a copyright strike on it.
Only two tracks from the record are leaked and they’re available only on YouTube. The tracks are ‘Random Luvly Moncton Blue (s)’ and ‘Dadmomdaddy’. You can hear them here:
