So finally, Christian rockers are back with an upcoming album, ‘Victorious’, which for some reason reminds me of a Nickelodeon show of the same name starring Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande.

However, their new single is been released titled, ‘Legendary’, and well it was everything but legendary. Where do I start with this one? Seriously, I was out of words while I heard this one hell of a miss and the most disappointing factor is that it’s coming from a talented group whom I admired the most in the rock scene.
Now, hear me up, I love John L Cooper and his contributions to music and his side project, heavy metal band ‘Fight Of Fury’ which is really great and I really love it. I feel that he should leave this band (Skillet) for and become permanent member of FOF, just like Toumas Saukonnen left and disbanded Before The Dawn for Wolfheart.
Musically, it uses the same old cheesy formula of production, which is basically seen in their previous attempt, ‘Unleased’ in 2016, which itself was awful, except for the tracks: ‘Back From The Dead’ and ‘The Resistance’. The band did nothing but plagiarized it’s own track: ‘Feel Invincible’ at every aspect which gives us a feeling that it’s just gonna be the same old boring and cheesy track. Just compare it, you’ll be left in disbelief.
The last good album I’ve ever heard from this band is, ‘Rise’ back in 2013.
Lyrics, its too much pop centric and too much rhyme scheme, as it came from a shitty poem we were once taught in English class when we were in 5th grade. Literally, Weezer levels of bad. Here are few syllables of the lyrics:
Some people wanna turn and run (Run)
But the strong rise under the gun
Top, to the top
Ain’t never gonna stop
To the top, to the top
Ain’t never gonna stop
Seems like the band had literally nothing going on with their mind and literally made up anything and called it inspirational and we would teach children about how battles are fought (taking a whole lotta inspiration from Sabaton). This is bullshit lyric writing and after every chorus we get the cliched and annoying hook which is basically ripped off from Imagine Dragons. When the lyricist has nothing to write, what does he/she does? Yes, put some cop out, monotonous and annoying hook and put it all over the place, so that the song chart no. 1 on Billboard charts. What a bullshit idea, it’s repulsive and downright stupid.
The drumming in the song is exactly taken from Feel Invincible. I guess the band downloaded their own song and through audio editing software, they’ve removed everything but the drum part and just pasted it in the song. Seems like, the band themselves had no interest in producing the drums parts from scratch. This abysmal method killed creativity in a whole new level.
Internally, this song is an absolute clusterfuck confusion of pop, rock and Feel Invincible combined, because if we won’t plagiarize our own song and add some cheesy motivational phrases to attract audiences, then the track would tank commercially. Only positive in this track is John Coopers vocals and Seth’s guitar works, that’s it. Rest everything is abysmal and way beyond science.
My Rating: 4.2/10
